Storage device: a storage device is a piece of computer equipment which is used for storing data on.













Usb/flash drive: a usb flash drive is a data storage device which includes flash memory. When a usb is connected to your computer it can store any amount of information for you according to the amount of memory you have. Theses come in 1BG, 4GB, 16GB, 32GB etc. Flash drive can also be a sd memory card that can be inserted into cameras and mobile phones. They can be used for storing your pictures an videos on your camera and your pictures, videos, music etc on you mobile phone. They start as little as 1GB and work there way up.









External hard drive: External hard drives store your valuable data and add a considerable level of safety and security. This is because external hard drives are located outside the computer and allow you to keep a back up of all your important files. External hard drives have many different sizes in memory.








Cd/dvd’s:  CD stands for compact disc and it can be used for transferring information from your computer to the disc such as music. DVD stands for digital video disc and it can be used for transferring videos and pictures etc.












Floppy disk: a floppy disk is a flexible removable magnetic dick which is covered in hard plastic. A floppy disk can be used to store small amounts of information as the memory is not that big.















RAM: RAM stands for Random Access Memory. RAM is the most common form of memory found in a computer and other devices such as printers.











Cache memory: Cache memory is a small amount (normally less than 1MB) of high speed memory residing on or close to the cpu.
