Input Devices

Input device: a device that can be used to insert data into a computer or other computational device.




 









Digital camera: a digital camera is used for taking pictures and videos. It can then be connected up to your computer or laptop via usb lead to transfer your pictures and videos so you are able to store them then wipe your memory card so you are able to take more.













Keyboard: a keyboard is usually connected to a computer via usb lead. Although  a laptop has a built in keyboard. Also the internet tablets which are very popular lately have a touch screen keyboard. a keyboard allows you to type numbers and letters as information into a document or a browser. Without a keyboard connected up to your computer you wouldn't really be able to do much.





 







Mouse:  a mouse is connected up to the computer via usb lead. A laptop has a touchpad but you are able to connect a mouse to it also. Without a mouse connected up to your computer you wouldn’t be able to do anything.





 









 
Microphone:  when a microphone is connected up to your computer it allows you to communicate with others. When on webcam to another person it also allows you to speak to them.



 













Webcam: a webcam is connected up to your computer via usb. A webcam allows you to communicate with others anywhere in the world.
















Scanner:  a scanner is connected up to a computer via usb lead. It is used for transferring pictures and documents to your computer.
















Graphics tablet: a graphics tablet is connected to your computer via usb lead. This allows a graphic designer to draw an image free handed straight on to the computer.













Mobile phone: your mobile phone can be connected to your computer via usb lead or a lot of laptops may have Bluetooth. When your phone is connected up to your computer/laptop it can then be used for transferring data from your phone to your computer or from your computer to your phone.
